Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of themoderndayscribe.com and your enrollment in programs offered by Modern Day Scribes, a brand of Myles Stone Media Group ("Modern Day Scribes," "we," "us"). By using this site, taking The Scribe's Calling assessment, joining a waitlist or enrolling in a program, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our programs
Modern Day Scribes offers faith-based photography education, including the Modern Day Scribe Institute 12-week cohort. Program descriptions, schedules and prices are listed on the relevant program page at the time you enroll. We may adjust session content, guest teachers or materials to serve the cohort well, without reducing the overall scope of what was described.
2. Enrollment and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to enroll, or have a parent or guardian enroll on your behalf and agree to these Terms.
- Your seat is confirmed once payment is completed.
- Program requirements are listed on the program page. For the 12-week cohort, you need a DSLR or mirrorless camera and access to Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop or Capture One.
3. Schedule and attendance
Live sessions take place on the dates and times listed on the program page. Sessions may be recorded for enrolled students. Students are expected to attend live, complete assignments and take part in discussion. For the 12-week cohort, more than four unexcused absences may affect your completion status. If we must reschedule a session, we will give as much notice as possible and offer a make-up or recording.
4. Payment
Prices are listed in U.S. dollars. Payments are processed by our payment providers, including Kajabi Payments and, where offered, Klarna. If you choose a pay-later or installment option, you agree to that provider's terms, and you remain responsible for completing those payments. Missed or failed payments may result in access being paused.
5. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Community conduct
Modern Day Scribes is a learning community built on respect, honesty and care. You agree not to harass, demean or discriminate against others; share other students' work, images or personal information without their permission; post spam or self-promotion in community spaces without permission; or share your login or program access with anyone else. We may remove anyone from a program or community space for serious or repeated violations, without a refund.
7. Intellectual property
- Our materials. Lessons, videos, workbooks, assessments, templates and other course materials belong to Modern Day Scribes. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your own learning. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or teach them as your own.
- Your work. You keep full ownership of the photographs and writing you create. By submitting work for review, you allow us to display it inside the program for teaching and critique. We will ask your permission before using your work publicly, such as on social media or in marketing.
8. Faith-based content
Our teaching is rooted in the Christian faith and the Bible. Scripture and spiritual reflection are a central part of every program. Personal reflections shared by teachers are offered for encouragement and discernment, not as a substitute for your own church community or pastoral care.
9. No guarantee of results
We teach skills, craft and business practices, but we cannot guarantee income, clients, bookings or any specific outcome. Your results depend on your own effort and circumstances.
10. Limitation of liability
Our programs and this site are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Modern Day Scribes and Myles Stone Media Group are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or programs. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the program in question. You are responsible for your own safety and equipment during any photography assignment or in-person activity.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they were last changed. Changes do not affect a program you have already paid for, except where required by law.
